Education Group Gauging Needs Of Arizona Latino Community During School Closures

Hispanics are more likely to say someone in their household has lost their job or taken a pay cut because of the coronavirus pandemic than Americans as a whole. That’s among the findings of a survey from the Pew Research Center earlier this spring.

That can have effects for everyone in that household, including students. It’s one of the reasons the new executive director of the group ALL in Education wants to hear from Latino families in Arizona about the challenges they’re facing with schools in the state closed for the rest of the academic year.

Stephanie Parra has been on the job for around a month, and she joined The Show to talk about what she’s heard so far.
