Many functions of government have moved to a virtual environment, and that includes the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Chris Norton, director of its Phoenix regional office, spoke recently on PBS’s "Arizona Horizon" about how the transition is working.
“Since the end of March we transitioned to a fully telework and virtual environment," he said. "For some of our veterans, that may be a change while we temporarily go through this COVID period. I would argue most of our veterans are actually finding that to be a benefit. They don’t have to make the trip down to midtown.”
Norton said he hasn’t seen any impact on operations when it comes to processing benefits claims.
