The Arizona Registrar of Contractors is revoking the licenses of two Phoenix contractors.
The Registrar said seven homeowners across Arizona are out $92,768 after Precision Remodeling and Designs LLC failed to do the work consumers paid for and a subcontractor was never paid $2,569 for work done.
According to the agency’s news release, a representative for Precision Remodeling and Designs admitted all allegations in the summary suspension order were legitimate. In April, the Registrar said it was notified by Precision’s project manager that at least 46 other homeowners were waiting on projects the company will not complete.
Another Phoenix-based company, Image Home Improvement Inc., is not only accused of poor work and abandonment but also aiding and abetting. The Registrar said Image Home Improvement made an illegal deal with an unlicensed company, Crabtree Design House LLC, DBA Design House, to operate under Home Improvement’s name and license. Under the arrangement, at least eight homeowners paid $659,774 before filing complaints with the state.
An administrative law judge found Image Home Improvement aided and abetted an unlicensed company, failed to comply with written directives from the Registrar, abandoned construction projects and failed to perform work in a professional manner.
License revocations for both Image Home Improvement and Precision Remodeling and Designs take effect July 1, 2020.
