Yuma Regional Medical Center saw its largest increase in COVID-19 patients this past weekend. It prompted the hospital to transfer a dozen infected patients so it could keep beds open.
At the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, public health officials expressed concern that smaller communities might not have the capacity to handle a surge in COVID-19 cases.
Dr. Bob Trenschel is President and CEO of Yuma Regional Medical Center. The Show spoke with him and asked if they were expecting the high number of patients admitted with COVID-19 over the weekend.
