Gas Prices Are On The Rise Across U.S.

Gas prices are on the rise nationwide as businesses reopen and people start going back to work.

The national average is $1.97, up 4 cents from a week ago. AAA Arizona spokesperson Aldo Vazquez says Arizona is seeing an increase, too.

“When we look at Arizona, the average for a gallon of gasoline right now is $2.17, which is up 7 cents from a week ago, 4 cents from a month ago," Vazquez said.

Despite rising prices, Vazquez says AAA does not expect the summer average to be as high as last year.

He says right now the highest averages for gas in Arizona are in Coconino County at $2.31 and the cheapest averages are in Pima County at $1.96.
