Starting June 1, Maricopa County Superior Court will begin its transition plan to resume in-person operations, including welcoming folks back for jury selection and jury trials.
Any and all who enter county court buildings will be required to wear a face mask, and the courts have been authorized by Arizona Chief Justice Robert Brutinel to bar entry to anyone who refuses to wear one.
The Administrative Office of the Courts has also issued a list of health screening protocols that check for temperature, cough and other COVID-19 symptoms.
Physical access to courtrooms will be limited to no more than 30 minutes, and the Arizona Judicial Branch says jury operations will gradually begin resuming the week of June 15.
Some people may not be so eager to return to the court as the county and state continue to grapple with the coronavirus.
