Survey: Two-Thirds Of Arizona Voters Support Recreational Marijuana Initiative

A new survey shows that two out of three Arizona voters are likely to vote yes on a November 2020 ballot measure to legalize the sale and use of marijuana in Arizona.

Pollster Paul Bentz with Phoenix-based Highground says the reason for the high support in most demographics is because there are more restrictions on the measure to make it more “family-friendly.”

“More child-proof and labeling, as well as banning advertising to children, and banning the sales in particular of gummy bears, gummy worms and other kids candy-styled products," Bentz said.

Bentz says almost every demographic were on board, including older voters. The only demographic that had a just under 50% split were the most conservative.

Bentz also says voters seem to like the 16% tax on the product that would go towards infrastructure, community colleges and public safety.
