Arizona Educators Concerned With Health, Safety When Schools Reopen In Fall

The Arizona Department of Education has released guidance to schools as they prepare for the 2020-2021 school year and a return to the physical classroom. The plan details a variety of items to consider, from encouraging hand-washing to screening for potential COVID-19 cases. What is clear is that there is no one size fits all solution readily available.

Schools will have to account for their own unique positions in implementing plans that work for their students and staff.

The Show spoke with Marisol Garcia, vice president of the Arizona Education Association, for a teacher's perspective and what she's hearing from her colleagues as they get ready to make another momentous shift.
