As the state continues reopening, Arizona's COVID-19 cases continue to rise.
The statewide total now stands at 22,753 cases with 530 more reported by the state June 4. An additional 15 deaths have also been reported. Arizona appears to be on track to reach 1,000 deaths in the state during the first week of June, during which we saw the highest single day increase in cases yet.
The Show spoke with Dr. Bob England from the Pima County Health Department about what's causing this sudden jump, and about what Pima County is doing to try mitigating the spread of COVID-19.
Dr. England isn't the only one closely monitoring the rise in cases.
Will Humble, former state public health director, is currently the executive director of the Arizona Public Health Association. He has also been looking at the continued rise in cases.
The Show spoke to him as well about whether or not this rise was preventable, and what the future may hold for Arizona COVID-19 cases.
