Arizona's National Park Visitors Spent $1.3 Billion In 2019

Visitors to Arizona’s National Parks sites spent $1.3 billion in 2019, according to the National Park Service’s annual  visitor spending report

The economic impact generated by Arizona’s National Parks sites was down slightly in 2019 from 2018. But the Park Service reports National Park sites supported 19,000 Arizona jobs last year in hotels, outdoor recreation, and other industries.

The Grand Canyon remains the  second-most visited National Park behind the Great Smoky Mountains, though visitation to the Grand Canyon fell about 6% from 2018 to 2019.

The economic impacts of park closures and restrictions due to the pandemic will be reflected in next year’s report.
