Flagstaff Will Require Masks In Public

If you’re coming to Flagstaff, bring a mask. Starting Saturday night the city will require people to wear masks in public.

The proclamation follows the governor’s decision to allow cities to implement their own rules. Everyone 5 and older must wear a mask in public. Some exceptions include when people are eating or drinking, when they’re able to maintain social distancing, when a person can’t wear a face covering because of a medical condition or religious beliefs.

As temperatures rise and the state is reopening, the cool mountain town is seeing many visitors. Several people from Flagstaff have expressed concern on social media about the number of people not wearing masks.

Business owners are expected to enforce the regulation, but are not liable for those who refuse to wear a mask. Continued failure to comply will result in a misdemeanor.
