Cooler Temperatures, Slight Chance For Rain In Arizona

After a week of stifling heat, expect a slight cool-down in Arizona, thanks to a low pressure system moving down the West Coast.

It will bring winds and some relief from the heat — and maybe a chance for some rain, said National Weather Service meteorologist Sean Benedict.

"There will be some moisture, it looks maybe mid-week, there’ll be an increase in some moisture, but we won’t initially see any response from that," Benedict said. "Maybe toward the end of the week we could see chances for some storms increase, but probably initially it’ll be the high terrain areas."

In northern Arizona and along the Mogollon Rim, temperatures could drop down into the 70s for much of the week.
