Hospital Beds Are 'Real Estate, Worthless' Without Staff To Treat Patients: Valley ER Doc on Life Inside Hospital

The state health department June 29 approved Arizona hospitals’ requests to move to crisis standards of care. Among other things, that means hospitals will be able to use a scoring system to help figure out which patients coming in should be prioritized for treatment.

The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations in Arizona has been increasing, and hospitals are worried about having enough space — and staff — for those patients.

To get a sense of what’s going on inside hospitals right now, The Show spoke with Dr. Benjamin Reeser, an emergency room physician in the Valley.
