30% Of K-12 Students Lack The Devices, Internet Access For Remote Learning

Nearly a third of all K-12 students in this country do not have adequate access to the internet, or a device to connect. That’s according to a new analysis from the group Common Sense Media. As more school districts across Arizona and the country look to remote learning to at least start the next school year, that digital divide is becoming a bigger challenge.

The data also show that more than half of those students without adequate internet access are Black, Latinx or Native American.

The Show spoke more about this with Ilana Lowery, the Arizona director for Common Sense Media.
