The Arizona Department of Corrections will continue suspending visitations at all state prisons for another month.
The ADC is suspending all legal and nonlegal visits in Arizona state prison complexes through Aug. 13. It originally paused visitations in March to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Cases of coronavirus among people in prisons increased during the pandemic. Five hundred and fifty-seven inmates have tested positive for COVID-19, and eight have died.
Inmates are still eligible for one 15-minute video visit per week, and all existing policies for phone calls and written letters remain in effect.
