Tweet Analysis: Arizona Ranks First In Unwillingness To Wear Masks

While Arizona was the 48th state admitted to the union, we are No. 1 in the country for several notable reasons.

Arizona is the No. 1 copper producer in the country and it has the largest ponderosa pine forest in the United States.

According to analysis of “tweet geospatial metadata” from survivalist website Survival At Home — in what is an unscientific survey — Arizona is No. 1 in the country for residents unwilling to wear masks.

Other states that top this list are Idaho and Nevada in the West — Maine and Florida in the Wast. People in New England and the Mid-Atlantic were found to be most likely to wear masks.

Survival At Home compiled data from Twitter postings around the country, collating posts with hashtags like “no mask” and “I will not comply” and looking at which regions generate the most anti-mask posts.
