A 12-day-long COVID-19 testing effort is underway in south Phoenix and Maryvale.
Gov. Doug Ducey this week announced the state would partner with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on providing tests in high-need areas. The tests sites will operate at South Mountain Park and Maryvale High School beginning Friday.
The goal is to provide 2,500 free tests per day at each site. The state says test results will be available within 48 hours. Participants also will receive free cloth face coverings. The public can pre-register at AZhealth.gov/SurgeTesting.
In total, more than 300 sites across Arizona are now offering COVID-19 testing. Those are listed at the Department of Health Services website.
