Here’s Where And When Discount Grocer Aldi Will Open Arizona Stores

The Valley’s grocery market is growing. Aldi plans to open four Arizona locations by the end of the year. The discount grocer will open stores in Chandler, Gilbert, Goodyear and Peoria. 

Aldi’s was founded by a German family and its first U.S. store opened in Iowa in 1976. Shoppers experience a no-frills environment where 90% of groceries are Aldi brands. 

The company said it’s on pace to become the country’s third-largest grocer by store count in two years. In a news release, Aldi said it has opened more than 75 locations in California since entering that market four years ago. Aldi currently has more than 2,000 in 36 states.

The company said it’s hiring for positions at its Arizona stores and expects they will create 90 new jobs.

Aldi locations to open in November 2020:

  • 2844 S. Alma School Rd., Chandler, AZ
  • 24665 N. Lake Pleasant Pkwy., Peoria, AZ

Aldi locations to open in December 2020:

  • 845 N. Estrella Pkwy., Goodyear, AZ
  • 1801 Pecos Rd., Gilbert, AZ
