Investigation Finds Hundreds Of Partisan Websites Masquerading As Local News Sites

A new investigation from the Nieman Journalism Lab has found there are hundreds of websites purporting to be news organizations that are, in fact, partisan media.

These sites are across the country — although there are several in Arizona, both in the Valley and in other parts of the state.

The research shows many of these sites are run by conservative outlets, although there are some on the left as well.

Jessica Mahone is a research associate at the DeWitt Wallace Center for Media and Democracy at Duke University and is the lead author of the Nieman Lab investigation. The Show spoke with her about what these sites tend to look like.
