Arizona State University’s fall semester is less than a month away, but some aspects of college life will be adjusted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
ASU President Michael Crow said the school is planning to welcome back students with hundreds of academic events, most of which will be virtual.
Concerts are also in the works, but those might look different as the university is following health recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Arizona Department of Health Services of limiting gatherings to small numbers and physical distancing.
“We are playing it by ear, using our systems and our technology to manage it as best we can," he said. "We intend to give students you know a great teaching, learning and discovery experience. That’s our objective.”
Crow said the university is building outdoor venues and class spaces so students can be together while still staying physically distanced.
