Many Chandler students are starting school remotely this week, and the Chandler Public Library is launching a new service to help them.
Starting Monday, Chandler libraries' "Book It! Back to School" service will give students access to free Wi-Fi, desktop computers, printing, faxing and scanning services or just looking for a quiet place to study.
The students will need to make a reservation online to access a library, and each visit will be limited to 45 minutes.
“We thought it was particularly important to make the library and its resources available to anyone who might not have at home resources to be able to effectively learn from home," said Rachelle Kuzyk, Chandler Public Library’s manager.
Chandler libraries are open for reservations 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. Reservations can be made online up to 24 hours in advance. Face coverings and social distancing will be required.
Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the reservation.
