Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich Warning Arizonans Of COVID-19 Phone Scam

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is warning Arizonans of a phone scam involving COVID-19 test results.

They’re just calling tens of thousands of people, saying they have the results, and they know that people are scared, people are anxious, people are waiting to get their results,” Brnovich said. “And so, someone will call and say, ‘oh, we’ll give you your results but we need your bank account information, we need this information.’”

Brnovich said his office has received 650-700 consumer complaints concerning COVID-19. He noted that most providers send results via email or to an online patient portal, and to be wary of anyone calling you with that information.
