It’s been a hot summer, which is nothing unusual for the Valley, but Sunday’s high temperature could be a record-setting milestone.
National Weather Service meteorologist Isaac Smith said if we hit the forecast high of 112 degrees, it will be a new record, nine years after the previous one was set.
“So, that record actually doesn’t go back that far; 2011 was the last time of 33 days. For this week we see temperatures for much of the week at or above 110 degrees,” said Smith.
He also said for the Valley, there’s no monsoon relief on the horizon anytime soon.
