Why Teachers Are Being Encouraged To Drive Learners Away From Technology In Online Instruction

The state has set aside $7.5 million to help its teachers get free training on how to effectively lead classes online and in blended learning settings.

The training will be open to all of the state’s public school teachers but is not required.

The sessions kicked off Aug. 11 and are being conducted by ASU Prep Digital. Its CEO, Amy McGrath, said lots of teachers have had basic questions about the fundamentals of how to take what they do in the classroom and translate it for their students online.

The Show spoke with McGrath about how different is it for a teacher to take what they do in the classroom to an online platform.
