Excessive Heat Warnings Likely To Continue Well Into Next Week

Forecasters are expecting another week of extreme heat in the Phoenix area.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Mark O’Malley says high temperatures near 110 degrees will stick around at least for the next few days, with overnight lows hovering around the upper 80s.

"We’re looking at a prolonged stretch of very hot weather for the Phoenix area," O'Malley said. "This will go into at least the middle of next week. Currently, the excessive heat warning goes through Wednesday of next week. It may be extended longer, it may be cut shorter. There’s a lot of uncertainty once we get to next week."

The summer of 2020 has already broken records for most days with temperatures over 110 degrees — and O’Malley says there’s plenty more to come.
