'Affordable Housing 2.0': Arizona Health Plans Aim To Change How State Thinks About Affordable Housing

A group of health plans that works with the state’s Medicaid program is aiming to revamp the way Arizona thinks about affordable housing.

The Home Matters to Arizona Fund aims to raise more than $100 million over two years.

It has already launched with a portion of that money and is looking at the first round of shovel-ready project applications.

Joe Gaudio is the senior vice president and CEO West Region for United Healthcare Community and State, which is the Medicaid Division of United Healthcare. He’s also an advisory council member for the Home Matters to Arizona Fund.

The Show talked with Gaudio about what inspired this action.
