Arizona Democrats on Tuesday held an online forum as President Trump visited Yuma to stump for his border wall and on the issue of immigration.

Many who participated in the forum found fault with the president’s character and his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada blamed coronavirus-related infections and deaths on Trump’s vanity.

“It’s a cruelty that he has against people — his failure to deal with COVID-19 — because he wanted an economy to keep making him look good. He didn’t care. Thousands and thousands of people have gotten sick. Thousands and thousands of people have died,” said Estrada.

Sheri Johnson, who is an out-of-work restaurant manager, wondered where her next paycheck will come from.

“His [Trump’s] neglect and lack of empathy destroyed us. I don’t know from one day to the next what I’m going to do or how I’m going to pay rent or how I’m going to keep the lights on,” she said.

Johnson voted for Trump in 2016 but said, “I won’t make that mistake again because the president is supposed to protect his people.”
