This week’s forecast calls for — you guessed it — more extreme heat.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Mark O’Malley says heat advisories will likely continue until at least Friday.
“An excessive heat warning is in effect starting Monday afternoon, and that goes through Friday evening," O'Malley said. "So we urge those that have to work outside to take frequent breaks, drink plenty of water, and to get into air conditioning during the heat of the day if possible.”
In the high country, afternoon highs will reach about 90 degrees, but overnight lows will drop down into the low 60s.
Better monsoon setup, with the center of the high over the Four Corners. Storms that develop may produce gusty winds, blowing dust, isolated flash flooding, small hail, and lightning. Excessive Heat Warning will also be in effect starting tomorrow. #azwx pic.twitter.com/SUVheWAg3f
