Very few states have what are considered to be less political redistricting panels — and those panels are going to be in the spotlight soon, as census figures will provide information for redrawing legislative and congressional maps.
Arizona has its Independent Redistricting Commission, made up of five members. California has 14 members on its Citizens Redistricting Commission, and that panel was recently seated. This will be the second time the California commission goes through the redistricting process.
