The Labor Day weekend in Phoenix has been record-breaking so far.
Saturday was the 14th day this year in which Phoenix had a high of 115 degrees or more, according to the National Weather Service.
And we could shatter more records Sunday as the temperature could reach 113. The record for Sept. 6 is 111.
The good news is we could see a cool down later this week, says James Sawtelle, with the Phoenix National Weather Service.
"And our temperatures will fall probably almost 15 or 20 degrees, and we’re only looking for highs on Wednesday and Thursday in the mid or upper 90s."
Despite the hot weather, the Phoenix Fire Department said crews used a helicopter and ground vehicles to rescue hikers experiencing heat-related issues in at least four separate incidents on Camelback Mountain over the weekend.
On Sunday, rescue teams came off the mountain with the hiking group that was complaining of heat-related symptoms.
