Grand Canyon University begins its fall semester Tuesday and the school will have record enrollment this semester.
With more than 8,200 new students, this year’s incoming class will be GCU’s largest ever. In total, more than 23,000 students will begin the new semester at the Christian university’s Phoenix campus, though classes won’t be held in-person right away.
In an effort to avoid COVID-19 transmission, GCU plans to keep classes mostly online for the first three weeks then transition to a blended in-person model toward the end of September.
The school says students also have the option to take classes 100% online this term. GCU says about 4,700 students have opted for the online-only model.
