Mesa Partners With Promotional Site To Bolster Sales For Local Brick-And-Mortar Businesses

The City of Mesa is partnering with a promotional website to help generate foot traffic as local businesses reopen.

Mesa Mayor John Giles says the city is using federal CARES Act funding to pay the fees for businesses to sign up with hownd.com, a website that promotes special offers and incentives for brick-and mortar stores.

"Customers will see that, take advantage of it, make the online transaction that goes into your bank account and then ultimately results in them coming into your store and using those gift cards or coupons that they purchased electronically,” Giles said.

Giles says Mesa is also providing rent and utility funding as well as technical assistance to local small businesses.
