The Kingman Regional Medical Center wants to know how many Mohave County residents have had COVID-19.
The hospital’s clinical research administrator, Dr. Anthony Santarelli, announced a study that will collect blood samples and test them for coronavirus antibodies.
“The first, prime objective for our study is to determine the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies throughout the Mohave County population. We are hoping to find out whether or not they stay stable throughout a period of time and then whether or not any behavioral health indicators are indicative of higher rates of transmission,” he explained.
Residents served by the medical center can apply to be part of the study, which will begin this month.
Some who show positive markers for coronavirus will be asked to return two months after initial testing to be retested.
Those interested can call outpatient scheduling at the medical center.
