Governor Doug Ducey is urging Arizonans to complete the census if they haven’t done so already.
In July, the Trump Administration moved the census deadline up to September 30. A number of groups have challenged the move in court, asking for an extension.
Since it is unclear who will win the legal battle, states are scrambling to meet the early deadline. Census Bureau Director Steven Dillingham said he thinks 90% of Arizonans should have filed by now.
“The pandemic has hit all states, in different ways,” Dillingham said.
The governor has reminded Arizonans that an undercount could cost the state millions of dollars.
