SRP Extends Shut-Off Moratorium, But Only For Some Customers

Salt River Project  has announced it won’t disconnect utility services for some limited-income customers through the end of this year in response to COVID-19 hardships.

SRP had previously put a moratorium on utility disconnections through October. This week’s announcement extends that through December, but it applies only to customers on the limited income Economy Price Plan. Those customers also will have late fees waived for the rest of the year.

Starting in October, the utility will place other customers with more than $80 in debt on eight-month repayment plans.

The Phoenix area’s other major utility provider, APS, has  also extended its shut-off moratorium through the rest of 2020.
