On Friday, Arizona Congressman Raul Grijalva said he believes President Trump will challenge the results of the November election should he lose.
Earlier this week, the president declined to commit to a peaceful transfer of power. We’ll “have to see what happens,” is all Trump would say at a White House press briefing.
Grijalva called the president’s words an “assault on our democracy.”
“The divisions that we see in this country are going to get worse as a consequence of this man deciding that he is not going to accept the will of the voters," Grijalva said.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other congressional Republicans have been quick to assure voters the president will accept the results if he loses.
