As the pandemic goes on with no end in sight, COVID-19 is not the top health care concern among voters in Arizona.
That’s according to a recent poll by the Commonwealth Fund. Instead, the poll found that people are most concerned about access to health care for those with pre-existing conditions. This was true of voters in seven battleground states, including Arizona.
That’s especially noteworthy as new data shows more Arizonans have lost their health insurance recently. The latest Census Bureau data found more than 800,000 Arizonans didn’t have health insurance as of last year. Experts expect that number to grow in 2020 after so many people lost their jobs — and employer-sponsored insurance — to the pandemic.
