Last week, there was another false start at the Arizona Corporation Commission on proposed changes to the state’s renewable energy standards.
The commissioners could not agree on whether to focus on reducing carbon or actually mandating renewable sources. Now, they’ll have to revisit the matter next month — maybe.
In any case, the standards and the commissioners’ willingness to embrace more environmentally-friendly options are likely to be on voters’ minds heading into November.
Commission candidates will meet in their first — and possibly only — debate Sept. 30.
The Show spoke with Ryan Randazzo of the Arizona Republic to talk more about the debate and what's to come.
