Voting With Disabilities: Accessing The Assistance That's In Place

As election season is underway, The Show is spotlighting the challenges faced by people with disabilities when they go to vote.

Teresa Moore is the GoVoter director in Arizona for the national group Self Advocates Becoming Empowered Voter Project.

She works to help raise awareness about voting rights and access for people with disabilities — and she lives it herself. Moore has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair.

The Show spoke with her more about her own experiences at the polls and about what mechanisms are already in place to help people with disabilities vote.

If you or someone you know has a disability and would like to share your voting experiences, you can take the GoVoter survey at  govoter.org.
