Maricopa County voter turnout is going strong in the first few days of early voting which began on Wednesday. More than 6,000 voters have come out to the polls since Friday afternoon, said Diana Solorio with the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office.
“We just see a line right before our voter centers open," she said. "There are people in line, ready, excited to vote. They have their ID with them and their voter ID card and they’re ready to cast their vote.”
The number of Maricopa County voters who have turned out so far have already exceeded numbers from the first week of the 2016 general election, about 1,000.
