An Arizona state representative who had been intubated for COVID-19 has left the hospital.
Lorenzo Sierra represents the Avondale area in the state House. He was hospitalized for COVID-19 earlier this month while visiting family in the Washington, D.C., area.
They call us the #Fighting19. We fight hard for the people of our community. Now I literally fought for my life. I honestly don’t remember all the details. So humbled by all the calls and messagefrom folks like @JoeBiden and @CaptMarkKelly. Now I got to relearn how to eat & walk. pic.twitter.com/OK96UyUk87

His condition was critical enough that he had been put on a ventilator. He left the hospital Wednesday and plans to remain in the D.C. area for a few days before returning to Arizona.
He tweeted that he fought for his life and said he beat the odds with “the power of prayer and love.”
The power of prayer & love. It’s what gave us a fighting chance of beating 2-to-1 odds against us. I felt your love in the darkest hours. Plus I promised @RhondaCagle1 I would fight like hell. Thank you to the @HopkinsMedicine team that kept me alive and on the road to recovery. pic.twitter.com/vDLLilWpXd
