2020 just keeps getting better and better. Our sizzling summer heat has extended into October, and Phoenix has set a record for the number of 100 degree days in a year.
There are promising signs of cooler temperatures next week, but we still look warmer and drier than normal for the rest of the year.
To learn more about this, The Show spoke with ASU Professor of Geographical Sciences Randy Cerveny.
There it is! Phoenix has now experienced its 144th day this year with a high temperature of 100°F or greater, reaching 100°F at 2:37 PM MST this afternoon. This beats the previous record of 143 days set in 1989. #azwx pic.twitter.com/UbKLHSnw6e
