Arizona Early Voters Outpacing 2016 Ballot Returns

After nearly two weeks of voting in Arizona, ballot tallies reveal that Arizonans are taking early voting seriously, no one more so than Democrats.

According to data sourced by the political firm Saguaro Strategies, 299,232 Democrats have already cast their ballot as of Friday. That’s a 6.9% increase over the same time frame in 2016.

More than 211,000 Republicans have also voted so far, a 1.2% increase for the GOP compared to the last presidential election cycle.

Among independents and voters affiliated with other political parties, another 149,032 ballots have been cast.

Of all the ballots cast, more than half a million have been returned in Maricopa County alone.

Saguaro Strategies' unofficial tally tracks ballot returns using data from the Arizona Democratic Party Voter File and the Maricopa County Recorder's Office.
