Arizona Democratic Party Will Receive List Of Pima County Voters Who Forgot To Sign Ballot Envelopes

The Arizona Democratic Party will be receiving a list of Pima County voters who forgot to sign their ballots. This is a result of a settlement that differs from the Maricopa County ruling earlier this week.

The party has agreed to drop its suit, in return for the list of voters who forgot to sign the outside of the envelope containing their ballots. The Democratic Party had originally also asked for the list of voters whose signatures didn’t match the ones on record. Both types of mistakes ultimately will get that voter’s ballot thrown out.

While voters have up to five business days after the election to fix mismatched signatures, those who forgot to sign only have until 7 p.m. on Election Day. Election officials do reach out to voters with ballot mistakes.

A Maricopa County judge ruled in a similar casethat the party could not have either list before Election Day. However, Pima County found it was more reasonable to allow the party to have the forgotten signature list due to the earlier deadline.
