Horse Fire Almost 75% Contained, But Closures And Restrictions Persist

Firefighters have made significant progress containing the Horse Fire in the Prescott National Forest.

As of Sunday afternoon, the fire is now almost 75% contained, and residents of Crown King are now allowed to return home.

Fire spokesperson Mackenzie Mabery says weather conditions are favorable for the fire to be almost fully contained soon.

"Decreased temperature and increase in humidity and some potential for moisture, we should be looking pretty good coming into this week," she said.

No structures were destroyed by the fire, but there are still widespread closures and fire restrictions in the Prescott National Forest.
