Arizonans are getting more than $71 million in refunds from Ticketmaster. This follows a complaint by the state.
Ticketmaster will pay back Arizonans for more than 650 events that were canceled or postponed in the state due to COVID-19.
Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said his office received more than 200 complaints from consumers about the issue.
“I understand that there’s a lot of stress and events are being canceled, but it shouldn’t mean if you’re a consumer you shouldn’t have a refund," Brnovich said.
The Attorney General’s Office negotiated with the ticket sales company for the payout. The consent agreement is pending court approval.
Brnovich said consumers impacted should already have received the option for a refund. Arizonans who purchased Ticketmaster tickets prior to March 14, 2020, who have not received an email from Ticketmaster offering a refund for a canceled, postponed or rescheduled event are encouraged to file a consumer complaint with the Attorney General's Office.
