Arizona Coyotes Drop Draft Pick Over Past Incidents Of Bullying, Racism

The National Hockey League draft took place in October, and the Arizona Coyotes were without their top three picks — because of a combination of trades and league-imposed penalties.

With their fourth-round selection, the Coyotes chose 18-year-old Mitchell Miller.

But after reporting revealed that Miller had admitted in juvenile court four years ago to bullying a Black classmate who was developmentally disabled, the Coyotes cut ties with Miller.

That happened after the organization said they drafted him with the hopes of providing structure and guidance for him to become a better human being.

To learn more, The Show spoke with Arizona Republic columnist Greg Moore.
