Firefighters are battling at least four wildfires in the Tonto National Forest.
Spokesperson Susan Blake says November wildfires are rare, but it has been very dry.
"With drought conditions the way they are, we haven’t received any substantial rainfall. So the chances of a wildfire starting and just taking off are very high," Blake said.
The fires were all lightning-caused.
Ground crews and a helicopter are in use to help mitigate the spread.
