Tonto National Forest will wave day-use fees on Veterans Day.
The fee waiver applies to Tonto passes, which are normally required for popular recreational sites.
It does not apply to concessionaires in the forest or to camping fees.
The Forest Service reminds visitors that some parts of the forest may be closed because of wildfire damage, and that a fire ban is in effect.
Some parts of the forest experienced severe wildfire damage during the past summer.
