Maricopa County Expects All Ballots Counted By Midweek

Maricopa County expects all ballots to be counted by midweek. Erika Flores with the County’s Elections Department says more than 2 million voters cast ballots, representing 80% of eligible voters in the county.

Despite that, Flores says they are moving faster than in previous elections.

“It’s important people know that this is actually the fastest that we’ve ever been able to count ballots. And the difference this year is that the races are so close and all eyes are on Maricopa County because of that," Flores said.

Some early and provisional ballots still need to be processed and verified. Flores says voters with signature mistakes, or who need to verify their identity, have until 5 p.m. Tuesday to fix their provisional or early ballots. Voters can check their ballot status at  beballotready.vote.
